Emblematic building designed by the firm of architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron whose base is an equilateral triangle of 180 meters wide and 25 high. It hosted the event of the Universal Forum of Cultures held in Barcelona in 2004.

It has a 3,200 seat auditorium and an exhibition hall of 5,000 m2.

Since 2011 it hosts the National Museum of Natural Sciences of Catalonia.
